All-Delco quarterback Ryan Corkery will further his playing career under the tutelage of Delco native Bill Zwaan and West Chester University.
Corkery had a phenomenal three-year stretch at Garnet Valley. In fact, the success
he attained over the last three years is unparalleled compared to other quarterbacks county.
Not many quarterbacks are a perfect fit for the system in which they run. Corkery, however, was the right guy to engineer coach Mike Ricci’s complex triple-option offense.
In 2011, Corkery led the Jaguars to a Central League title and deep into the District One Class AAAA playoffs. He earned All-Delco honors as a junior, posting some eye-popping numbers. He passed for 1,407 yards and 14 touchdowns and nearly rushed for 1,000 yards.
Corkery started 2012 slow — perhap a result of recovering from major knee surgery — but bounced back to have a very solid senior campaign that was on par with his junior campaign.
